From Nov 12: Welcome Sake

Modern cocktail bar and izakaya, Comma has started a new promotion this week and it's free welcome sake on any order. Order food? You get sake. Order sake? You get MORE sake. Heck order a beer and make it a sake, sake, sake BOMB.

Nov 13-18: Happiness Forgets Cocktail Pop Up

The East London cocktail outpost, Happiness Forgets, is landing in Shanghai for a five evening takeover at The Ritz Bar & Lounge. They will be bringing their sublime cocktails featuring simple twists on old classics, so can experience the unpretentious speakeasy vibes of London's most popular basement watering holes. Go take in the hospitality of a bar that takes customer experience above all else.

Nov 14: Mastri Birrai Umbri Italian Craft Beer Night

Mastri Birrai Umbri beer is hosting its first beer party in Shanghai which is excellent news for fans of Italian craft beer. Go try the beer while you chill out and nibble on Italian bites. Did we mention it's free flow? Oh and we hear the DJ is pretty cool too.

Nov 15: Ministry of Negroni Anniversary

Funkadeli is celebrating the 1-Year Anniversary of Ministry of Negroni on November 15 with a big bash featuring a cascade of negronis, a guest bartender, and revelry. Four negroni cocktails will be featured on the night – three of which are variations by guest bartenders from previous Ministry events. Main event guest bartender Johan Holmberg will be presenting a new cocktail on the night.

Nov 15: Bingo Night Fever

Bingo Night only comes around once a month and is truly one of the most fun events around, o don't miss it. This month 'taste' your luck at an event celebrating France's legendary wining and dining. Prizes look great from a Magic Decanter (don't you decant?) to a Niu Scooter and more.

Nov 15: Healthy Dumpling Workshop

Do you love dumplings but have no idea how to make them at home? Then sign up for this cooking workshop and learn to make three kinds of dumplings from scratch. All original recipes come from healthy Chinese Chef Shiyin Wang who will guide you through mixing up fillings and folding wrappers until you reach dumpling perfection. The finished products will be boiled, steamed and fried allowing you to taste the difference in methods. Ingredients are all fresh and local from FIELDS, and wine pairings will be provided. Add Chef Shiyin (WeChat: swangyin) to register!

Nov 15: Wine Lips

Wine Lips, the much loved Shanghai wine party is hitting up Beverly's pink palace disco this Thursday for an unmissable night of drinking vino, chill rooftop vibes and dance floor destruction with music from the China Social Club crew. This edition doubles as the official unofficial wine expo afterparty and features amazing Aussie wines from L.A.S. Vino, Si Vintners and Old Jarvie as well as Chinese natural wine from Petit Garden, a local team of vignerons making wine up in Ningxia. These Chinese nattys are some of the freshest wines you'll drink on this side of a cellar door. Food will also be available a la carte from the Beverly menu for the peckish.

Nov 15: Maya 10 Year Anniversary

Help Maya celebrate ten delicious years of tacos at the Mexican mainstay's anniversary party this Thursday. They will have Arab tacos (which you would know about if you watched the taco episode of Ugly Delicious). If you like tacos al pastor, you will love their predecessor; brought about by a clash of Lebanese and Mexican cultures. Margaritas, beers, cocktails and tacos are all going for RMB25 and your entrance fee comes with six food and drink tickets. And of course, there will be mariachis.

Nov 15-16: Philly Phresh at Egg

You can count on a pop-up menu at Egg being creative and we are super stoked about this week's event with Philly native (and Egg baker) Neffar's iterations of food culture classics such as cheesesteaks, pretzels and fish house punch straight from the City of Brotherly Love.

Nov 15-17: Fancy Free at The Shanghai EDITION

Get a sneak peek of new Australian cocktail concept, Fancy Free when their talented team takes over the bar at The Shanghai EDITION's Club room. Rob Libecans, Chris Hysted-Adams, Matthew Stirling and Ryan Noreiks met at Melbourne's Black Pearl which currently sits at number 30 on the World's 50 Best Bars list and was awarded the 2017 Legend of the List award. This should be a good one.

Nov 15-17: Black x Mozaic & Spice

Table Black invites you to join them on November 15 through November 17 for a culinary journey you and your friends won’t want to miss. Long-time friends Chefs Chris Salans and Blake Thornley will be serving menu items with Indonesian and Guizhou ingredients, boldly bringing together an array of flavors and spices designed to delight your taste buds.

At the dinner events, guests will dig into the duos’ 11-course tasting menu. Gingerflower radish lobster and babi guling are among the list of promising main dishes while Buddha tofu and cinnamon chocolate kumquats will surely leave your sweet tooth satisfied.

Then Saturday is the Spice Brunch. This exciting finale will put on display the flavors of Indonesia from beef and kingfish carpaccio to lobster tempe curry.

Nov 15-17: Brenden Gradidge Guest Chef at Mr. Willis

In conjunction with Restaurant Australia, Mr. Willis is hosting Brenden Gradidge of The Argyle Inn of New South Wales for a tasting menu showcasing the best of modern Australian cuisine.

Nov 16-17: Fever Tree Guest Bartender Night

Zuk Bar wants you to join Eddy Yang, brand ambassador for Fever-Tree, on Friday, November 16 and Saturday, November 17. Known in many respects for his vibrant personality and appreciation for William Shakespeare (plus venues including Tailor Bar, Above the Globe, Bar Flow and Second Moment), the elite bartender has often used his appreciation for the literary genius to guide his creations.

Nov 17: Shanghai Baconfest 2018

Baconfest is back. Brought to Shanghai by Matt Rea, the bacon-loving genius behind the movable feast that was Ruijin Cajun, it's on at Cages next Saturday, November 17 from 11am-5pm. Check out the battle-off between bacon heads working to make bacon a tasty as possible, for your pleasure. What. Is. Not. To. Love. Expect lots of bacon and lots of goodness. Tickets include a drink and a try of each and every one of those bacon dishes in the aforementioned bacon head battle-off. What else do you need? More bacon, that's what.

Nov 17: Jigger & Pony's Jarold Koo Guest Shift

Jigger & Pony's Jarold Koo is in town for the Drink Magazine Bar Awards and will be stopping by Union Trading Company to spread warm cheer and reinvented classic cocktails through the bar. Expect refreshingly old-school bar techniques – measured using jiggers and ponies – for tipples that harken back to days past.

Nov 17: Cantina 10 Year Anniversary Party

Nov 18: EMW 15th Anniversary Portfolio Tasting

Wine enthusiasts, this one's for you. East Meets West Fine Wines (EMW) is celebrating their 15th anniversary and they're throwing a huge, wine-filled bash on November 18. The event will take place at Three on the Bund where there will be over 200 wines from 13 countries to sample. The Grand Tasting (RMB228) will be held from 2-5pm.

If you really want to get into the swing of things, there will be a few masterclasses on offer: Vietti Masterclass (2-2:45pm, RMB328), Bodega Garzon Masterclass II (3-3:45pm, RMB428) and Silver Oak Masterclass III (4-4:45pm, RMB528). Tickets are on sale now. (Note that prices for each masterclass are in addition to the RMB228 Grand Tasting.)

Nov 20: Erik Lorincz Guest Shift at Speak Low

Slovakian-born, 2011 Bartender of the Year, Erik Lorincz has earned numerous accolades in his career notably leading London's The American Bar at The Savoy to titles including World's Best Hotel Bar and the number one ranking on the 2017 World's 50 Best Bar list. He's created cocktails for Queen Elizabeth II and Cartier, so let him mix one up for you at Speak Low.

Nov 20: Ago Perrone (Connaught Bar) at The ZUK Bar

Joining The Zuk Bar for one evening is Connaught Bar's Master of Mixology, Ago Perrone. The legendary bar has remained on the World's 50 Best Bars list since 2009, to give you an idea. The location is fortuitous as The Sukhothai Shanghai's own resident head mixologist Vincenzo Pagliara cut his teeth under the mentorship of Perrone at London's Cannought. He will create legendary drinks presented with that timeless Cannought flair.

Nov 20: Macarena Rotger Guest Shift at UTC

If you recognize Bar Manager Macarena Rotger, its because she used to live in Shanghai and worked 1515 West Chophouse & Bar. She'll be at UTC mixing up tea-infused beverages from newly-opened The Other Roof in Singapore where she currently manages the bar.

Nov 20: Nolo Pop-Up with Hope & Sesame

In the wake of the DRiNK Magazine Bar Awards, Guangzhou speakeasy Hope & Sesame and The Cannery stepping in with some No & Low ABV drinks, showcasing Seedlip's distilled non-alcoholic drinks. The focus is full-flavored and creative beverages without alcohol content. Sample a 'Nomos Fizz,' 'Nogroni' or one of Michael Chen's signature low ABV 'Teapache Tribe' drinks and give your liver a much-needed break.

Nov 21: Seedlip x The Cannery

Nolo by Seedlip is at The Cannery for the second night, and this time you get to meet their brand ambassador Sebastian. Feel free to ask him all your questions about the No and Low ABV movement and give Seedlip non-alcoholic spirts a taste. The focus is full-flavored and creative beverages without alcohol content. Sample a 'Nomos Fizz,' 'Nogroni' or one of Michael Chen's signature low ABV 'Teapache Tribe' drinks and give your liver a much-needed break.

Nov 21: Wine & The City Xinjiang Wine Edition

Wine & The City, Puchang Winery and Hakkasan Shanghai are teaming up for a fantastic wine pairing dinner where they will introduce guests to wines from China's Turpan Valley region. In addition to tasting some fabulous food and wine, you'll learn all about the wines and the challenges it takes to grow some of China’s best vines.

Just to give you an idea of what's on the menu, dishes will include crispy duck salad with grapefruit, Wagyu beef dumplings, pork with pomelo and pomegranate and more.
